#DogPhotoBlog ~ Week 22

Another week has passed, and I have been very busy editing images.

When I went out this week to photograph my #DogPhotoBlog super model in Tonbridge, I met “Alfie” a black Labrador.

We had a great high mist on Wednesday morning and I thought about what nice even lighting that would give me. By the time I took this image the glorious sun had burned off the misty clouds and revealed these amazing patterns on the bridge, which I found just too tempting to resist as an image background for my dog photography.

This week I photographed a 13 week old Lucas Terrier with the sweet name of “Elsie”. She is such a cute bundle of joy!

For our dog photography session, we even managed to find a lovely bluebell wood nearby. Yes, that’s right – the bluebells were still out and they looked totally stunning!

Her owner Paula Cook, a mother of three, says that Elsie has joined their busy family and has been a complete joy since the day she arrived from Stow-on-the-Wold aged just 8 weeks. Elsie’s favourite place to hang out is the laundry pile and she is already far more obedient than any of her children with the fantastic help of Emma Jackman’s expert puppy training (Tel: 07949 171245). Elsie is a credit to her breeder given that upon arrival she was able to “sit” on command and climb into her bed on the instruction of “Beddies!” She has been described as the cutest little teddy bear and her new family is totally in love with her!

Aside from looking after this gorgeous new puppy Paula also provides music classes for pre-school aged children; www.humptydumptyclub.co.uk a club that evolved with her children and has grown ever since (Paula’s eldest is now 13!), classes run in Tunbridge Wells, Groombridge, Wadhurst, Sevenoaks and Hildenborough most days of the week. The off-shoot of this business have been PIC N MIX PARTIES which started up when parents’ said that Humpty Dumpty was their favourite hour of the week and could they make their children’s Birthday parties special – this has also mushroomed and become quite diverse, offering from Musical parties, Active Games parties, Art & Craft parties through to Pamper Parties – www.pic-n-mixparties.co.uk – for all enquires call Paula on 01892 864592.

I hope you enjoy this image, there are some more of Elsie to follow in a little sneak peek, which is all about her “puppyness”.

As promised earlier, here is the sneak peek of “Sissi” the black Newfoundland x Bernese Mountain Dog that I took in Germany.

In my dog portrait photography I enjoy showing the character or the traits of my clients dog/s. These images portray what Sissi likes doing best: sleeping!

This week’s Dog Photography Blog has been taken a bit further afield to Royal Tunbridge Wells.

I was very honoured  to be asked to take images of this stunning all black Newfoundland/Bernese Mountain Dog cross in Baden-Wuerttemberg, Germany!

Her name is “Sissi” and generally speaking she loves sleeping! You wouldn’t know from this picture, would you?

The first of the two days I was there was a complete wash out but luckily the second day was much nicer with lots of sunshine in the afternoon.

Big thank you’s to Katja for booking the dog portrait photography session and to her daughter Franziska who was the perfect assistant on the day. I will also blog a sneak peek image later in the week. Look out for it.

This weeks Dog Photo Blog features a really cute Jack Russel Terrier lady with the sweet name of “Maisie”.

This popular town or country dog breed is fun loving and, in most instances, overwhelmingly affectionate both with its family and with strangers, which I experienced first hand.

We had a fun session that day, despite it being quite muddy, even on the paths, due to all the rain we had recently. I enjoy seeing all the lush, spring green colours in the background.

“Dotty” a beautiful English Setter is featuring in this week’s Dog Photo Blog.

She has a real graceful and elegant way about her. And you just can’t help falling in love with her gentle dark-hazel eyes.

This breed is marvelous with children and they are easy to train. As with most bigger dogs, this breed needs a great deal of exercise.

I am loving Spring in Tunbridge Wells with all the fresh green colours being visible in the grass and in the trees in the background.

Bluebells, Bluebells, Bluebells. I love combining bluebells and dogs in my photography. (Shame the bluebells don’t last that long!)

Endless carpets of bluebells and amidst: “Pippi” an Italian Greyhound. Isn’t she gorgeous!

The breed of this week’s Dog Photo Blog dates back to the classical Greek and Egyptian era. It is a perfect sight hound in miniature and the breed’s good nature is an asset in any dog-loving home.

Knowing how quick Greyhounds are, it did not surprise me much to see that “Pippi” is very fast too. One second here, next second gone. Working together with the handler, we got Pippi to stand still just long enough for me to get the dog portrait I was after!

Her dog walker is Melissa Dalyanci of DoggySit in Royal Tunbridge Wells. Melissa  specializes in smaller dog breeds. You can contact her on her mobile 07876 022 300 or via twitter: @DoggySit
